what I am doing now. I have seen all sorts of banter about it on the
web. With the down turn in the economy, many people are either
thinking about small home based businesses or are trying to start
one up. One web site I went to claims this kind of thing is going to
"Save America" -- not driving to work every day like I used to do
(40 miles each way!!!) does help reduce carbon emissions greatly!
Here is a little something about what I am doing and some of the
rules and examples concerning working from home (in a

| These types of hobbies are great and are even better in retirement. I can help you with questions about HAM RADIO. I do that for nothing as it is a service to the HAM RADIO FRATERNITY. To learn more about HAM RADIO..just punch words like "ham radio" "qrp" "homebrew rig" "cw" "amateur radio" "shortwave listening" into your web search engine..ie "google it". You will be amazed at the number of sites that we hams have on the internet. YOU DON'T NEED THE MORSE CODE TO BE A HAM NOW..YOU DON'T EVEN NEED A RADIO!!! YOU CAN OPERATE A SIMULATION RADIO WITH YOUR COMPUTER OVER THE INTERNET AND SPEAK WITH OTHER HAMS (one such application is called Echo LINK..but there are others. Even if you have no radio or antenna, and cannot put one up..you can still talk to hams with the internet applications -- that simulate HAM RADIO. I myself, use echo link. If you want to talk to me on echo link..just send me an email and we will sked eqso is a completely computer to computer application that allows people to communicate just like hams on the air. For echo link, I had to produce proof of my being a ham. I sent a scan of my radio certificate and callsign license. eqso is much the same (I think) and you have to pay a small fee. I have not used eqso but if I was in an apartment or condo..I might well use this service. |

perhaps purchase. I travel Elliot Lake to Sudbury to Ottawa from
time to time. Can meet along the way at a rest stop (ie Timmys for
a coffee is my frequent stop).

| I now recycle batteries and electronics scrap at proper electronics recycling facilities. Mostly ..I do that when I go down to Ottawa..but I think there now is a depot in Espanola Ontario. (which is not that far from me). Up here in Northern Ontario..we tend to travel longer distances for services!!! Sudbury is 2 hour drive! |
