Swan Model HF-700S Single Sideband (SS-16B Special) 80 through 10 meter radio- Parts breakdown pictures.
-this radio is being parted out. Iam keeping the VFO, main chasis, crystals, and crystal filter for my homebrew receiver project.

All other parts are surplus to my needs and are being sold off. NO TUBES with this radio but there are the tube sockets and associated parts including
the two plate caps w/parasitic suppressors.

TERMS OF SALE: PRICES AS MARKED. IF it does not sell: I will cut my prices down AND THE NEW PRICES WILL APPEAR ON MY WEB PAGE HERE.

I take Pay Pal, or cheque (I wait for it to clear). Buyer pays full cost of shipping. I ship by the post office. I don't mark up the cost of shipping at all.

History of this radio: I bought it at a ham radio flea market out in the maritime provinces of Canada about 10 to 13 years ago. It was not working. I had
used the vfo previously to create a working 2 meter transceiver from an old drake tr33 fm rig. I sold the power supply years ago. I plan to build a new
front panel out of aluminum sheet and make a custom radio receiver for ham and short wave bands. I have all the modules almost ready to go for this
project.
The silver colored metal edging - I can take more detailed pics and
take a closer inspection if anyone shows interest.

all the knobs are good and I have
taped the little mounting screws to the
main tuning dial NOTE: there is a
larger coarse tuning dial and a fine
tuning dial as well. The only knob Im
not sure about is the small AF knob. I
dont know if that is original (I suspect
not). Asking $10 for all the knobs.
note: in the above picture..I believe that is the fine tune knob that goes with the coarse
tune knob for the rig. It goes with all the knobs for the $10 price.
ICOM IC475 all mode (ssb-cw-fm) 420 to 350 mhz transciever. Missing the top lid of the
cabinet. Id like to buy the top lid from a junker rig or..I might sell the transciever as is..
(it works fine) for $260.00 plus postage.
I bought the rig at a flea market from a well known ham Larry
Kaiser VE3QY now SK. I bought it for $50 because it was
missing the top lid and he said the PLL had a problem.

It worked fine on ssb in the terrestrial ssb freqs but pll would
drop out and the rig would not function in certain freq ranges.

I carefully tweaked a couple of trimmer capacitors in the PLL
and noted settings in order to make sure I could go back to
the initial settings and found a capacitor that when tweaked
the PLL would remain ON and not drop out.

Now the rig works fine on all ranges.

The memory backup battery needs to be replaced. The rig
does not hold its settings. I have been using the rig on a local
repeater here quite sucessfully. Not much ssb activity up
here in northern ontario but I checked it out with a 432
transverter I have and it sounds good on ssb.

Id like to get $260 if I sell it..or Id like to get the top cover.

I have the service manual in PDF format.

In order to replace the backup battery (this is outlined in the
service manual) ..you have to make a little jig with a 3 volt
battery source of power and you have to connect it across
the backup battery (3vdc) and then replace the battery that
way.

TRADES? I might take a broken HF rig in trade. A ten Tec or a
decent ten tec argonaut or centrury 21 or something like that.
