and Sudbury.
It is about 22 kms north of the Transcanada Hiway (Hiway 17).
Elliot Lake started off as a Uranium mining town back in 1955. It went
through several boom/bust cycles and now is primarily a retirement and
cottage/tourist town.
The good part about the Uranium up here is that it is not very
concentrated. That is why the Uranium mining efforts have switched to
an area where the ore is much more concentrated (Northern
Saskatchewan). -- If you are interested in Elliot Lake as a possible place
to live..I have researched the area pretty thoroughly. I can answer the
odd question by phone or email for free. For more in depth information
and a possible tour of the areas to live and retire and fish ect..I can do
some low cost consulting for $10.00 per hour! I am semi retired now
and it gives me a few extra dollars to support this web site and to buy

My great uncle Wills old radio from the 1930s. I
spent many hours listening to hams and BC
band and SWL. AM only. I am fixing this old
radio up. I bought some new tubes for it and
capacitors and soon it will be going again!

day the LED Display unit started to flicker, then went faulty and left only the point
marks on the complete display. I managed to trace the fault to one of the LED

catalogued then packed away in high
density fashion. Some I keep for
myself and others I sell. Many parts I
have are new old surplus NOS. Parts
that are sensitive to static are packed
away in E.S.D. foam and plastic bags.
TTL chips and capacitors and resistors
and most transistors I just put in plastic
bins for storage and use.
I BUY PARTS AND SWAP FOR
PARTS AND SWAP PARTS AND
SELL PARTS. I worked in the spare
parts business for 18 years (for
National Defence in Ottawa area).
I chose this "business" because I like
to be surrounded by all the little items
that I used to meticulously catalogued
as spares for my employer. I later
helped with the purchase of electronic
components which were scheduled for
life time buys.
As well..I have many pieces of radio
equipment (ham radio) that use these
parts and I BUILD radios from scratch.
I have a 9 mhz receiver IF strip built

A fellow amateur needed a 9 pin
connector for his TS820s. I
happened to have one. I sold it
at slightly less than what the
vendors would. I have some
junker radios ie hw7s,hr10b,

I recently bought literally miles of fine magnet wire for coil winding.
Unfortunately..I could only find #30 guage and thinner wire..but it is still
useful stuff for building. Included was some double runs of #32 and #37
for winding bifilar windings. It may even be useful for fly tying projects
or whatever. I CAN SELL YOU SOME OF THIS STUFF CHEAP..AND I MEAN
CHEAP..AS I cannot possibly use all of it. I will certainly beat any
advertised price anywhere and shipping by mail will be bare minimum.
