Here is a picture of an order of capacitors I sent out to the
New Brunswick. It only cost me (and the buyer about $1.70
in postage) plus about $2.50 for the actual parts.

These were small value capacitors in order to replace
older wax/paper capacitors in an older tube type radio.

This is a typical type of order I do with my small business of
parts supply.

I cannot do large orders because I do not have enough
stock. Some of the bigger commercial outfits that I buy
parts from (once and a while) are:
Dans Small Parts; Hendricks QRP supply, W8DIZ, Just
Radios in Toronto area (old radio supply).
The QRP ARCI web site has a good qrp parts supplier list.
-- I just do the small orders that sort of fall between the
cracks. --- I tend to have some odd ball stuff like old ICs
that are obsolete from the 1970s and real old transistors
and stuff like that.  Some of the larger suppliers may not
carry these types of parts.
-- I also do very small orders
with little or no handling fees and no minimums.

NOTE: the capacitors shown are commonly called "orange
drop capacitors" and are a favourite of those who repair
and restore older radios. They are used to replace older
wax/paper capacitors.
Small parts such as the ones above can be shipped in a padded envelope and are fairly
economical to ship. The big orange capacitor pictured is a .1 uf capacitor. It just barely fit
through the measuring slot the lady used at the post office. Any thicker a part and I
would have had to ship these items as a small parcel.
Any thicker and the package would have had to have been shipped as a small parcel and
the cost of shipping goes up significantly.

I CAN SUPPLY: capacitors, resistors and coils (all measured and tested), transistors
(tested) and ICs.

Here is a shot of a radio that I am
restoring at the present time.

The wax impregnated paper capacitors
number 4 in this picture. They are a
yellowish tubular component and I
marked one of them with an    X.

These old capacitors are generally poor
quality and should be replaced when
restoring an older tube radio.
Above is the before picture and this is the after
picture showing the newer modern epoxy/plastic
capacitors now soldered in place.

The orange and robin egg blue capacitors are the
newer style capacitors. They have a voltage rating of
about 600volts. This high voltage rating is necessary
in tube radios which have these kind of voltages
present.

SPEAKING OF HIGH VOLTAGE..WARNING..THESE
TUBE RADIOS CAN KILL YOU. THIS IS
PARTICULARLY TRUE OF RADIOS WHICH DO NOT
HAVE A POWER TRANSFORMER BUT DERIVE
THEIR OPERATING VOLTAGES DIRECTLY FROM
THE AC POWER MAINS.

MY HALICRAFTERS S 38 RADIO IS MADE THIS WAY.
THE CHASIS CAN BE HOT AND YOU CAN GET
KILLED IF YOU DON'T KEEP YOUR HANDS FREE
FROM METAL SHAFTS AND CHASIS.

ELECTRONIC PARTS IN SMALL QUANTITIES (even just one little part!!)

I have enough stock that I can share some of my parts with fellow electronic
builders, QRPers, hams, and people who restore old radios.
I do some repairs as well
at my $10 per hour shop fee. Mostly basic repairs on ham stuff that I am familiar with.
HERE IS A PICTURE OF A TYPICAL ORDER I have done in the past.
The fellow needed a few capacitors to restore an old radio. Most
of the bigger suppliers would have a minimum order and would
charge shipping and handling.-- This order cost the fellow
$4.20 total (including shipping).  These are quality tested parts
and most were new old surplus.
I JUST GOT A PILE OF CRYSTALS GIVEN TO ME. -- some of them are shown here. I built a little test oscillator and I even got my wife to help me.
We measured the frequency of oscillation and noted that some of them were overtone crystals. I started sorting them as to crystal of oscillation
and measured the output on a scope as well to ensure a good output. -- Its actually very enjoyable and relaxing work. I just might have the
crystal you need. Call or write an email and if I have one..or two..price is only $2.00! - I test them again before I send them out!!

I ve got some real nifty stuff for qrp builders and electronics experimenter types. I'm packing it all away each day "carefully". ICs are being packed
in ESD foam and protected with an aluminum foil liner on the drawers. -- YOU COULD SAY..MY JUNKBOX RUNNETH OVER!!!
I just could not resist
when some of my fellow amateurs decided to clean out their basements..and in some cases just gave me alot of this stuff. My late uncle as well
..Uncle Dave Perry..(who never did get his ham ticket..but was always interested in the hobby). He gave me some stuff as well.
I will not be using all this stuff!! unless I live to be 103! I will be
gettingmore stuff in shortly as well.

OLD INTEL CHIPS AND ZILOG CHIPS..I CAN
SELL THESE CHEAP..see my offer above.
These are modern epoxy
resin capacitors. I have
some and can share some
at about 45 cents each
depending on the
capacitance.

I will be getting more of
these in stock. The orange
ones are nick named
..orange drops and are a
favorite of the old tube
radio restoration crowd.
For these old (and often
rare LSI ICs..I make this
deal..

you pay 50% of the going
aftermarket rate.

You pay 25% of that in
advance. You try the chip
or program the chip to see
if it works. If it works..you
pay me the remaining 75%.

It is an honor system. Its
the only way I can sell
them because I have no
programmer or test
methods for these ICs.
Some of them are MOS
chips or CMOS chips and
there could be some ESD
damage to them over the
years. Some go back to
1976 in my collection.
