Here are some of my parts drawers.
I have recently (Jan 2008) bought more
shelving and will be sorting parts this winter.

This is my small home based business...AND
HOBBY!

Lately..I have been getting orders coming in.

I'm trying to fill a void in the market. I supply
very small quantities of parts at hobby prices.

NO MINIMUM ORDERS AND NO
ADMINISTRATIVE FEES. I will match or better
any price on the web.

I only have
small quanties of parts but I can
help you build or repair your small hobby
electronics projects (if you need only a few
parts here or there).

I specialize in small orders such as
one of a kind or a few of a kind electronic
components.

Orders that the larger suppliers could not be
bothered with.

AS JOHNNY CASH ONCE SAID..ONE PIECE AT A
TIME!   And it won't cost you a dime!

Yes indeed!!

I sell one piece and it may only cost you a
dime!    Problem is..the post office will charge
you $1.25 to ship it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am looking to buy more stock.

Do you have some electronics components
you would like to sell or trade. Keep me in
mind.

I test the parts to ensure they are good and the correct value. I
have fairly modern handheld testers: Autek RF1 (small
inductance & capacitance), the recently acquired honeytek which
measures larger value capacitors and inductance up to 20
henries, and the Radio Shack Digital meter which measures the
usual things a VOM does plus it measures the hfe of transistors.
With my own transistors I use in my own little projects, and the
ones
I ship out to people...I verify the hfe and connections and the
fact that the transistor is good or not.

RARE COMPONENTS AND INTEGRATED CIRCUITS

NOTE: IC's (microchips) ..I cannot test as a general rule. I don't
sell many. They are too complicated to test and I have no test
equipment for that purpose.
For chips..I can give a good deal at a
low price. ..ie try it and if it works..pay me
a bit more..(honour system).
I take the risk!!

I store my parts in ESD foam on the leads.
Some of the ICs I have acquired..were/are either used or new old
stock. --  I let you know what you are getting and make an
arrangement at a lower price for greater risk.
Sometimes it is worth the risk because the parts are nearly
impossible to get.

I recently sent out a rather rare digital display driver and display
chip to a fellow in the Canary Islands. I made arrangements with
him that I would sell it for $5.00 and if it worked he could send me
an additional $5.00 after he tried it in his circuit. --- He recently
wrote me that the Integrated Circuit works for him and he is very
pleased.

This is a typical business arrangement I make.
Being a very small business I try in every way to
accommodate the small base of customers I
have. I take the risk!
MY WORKSHOP/WORKBENCH..ELECTRONICS relating to
ham radio..and the odd repair for other people & spare parts.
I travel the TransCanada Hiway (hiway 17) from Elliot Lake, down
through Sudbury, North Bay, Mattawa, Pembrooke to Ottawa from
time to time and can stop by to look at
and possibly purchase
electronics parts, junker assemblies that are gathering dust in
your garage or basement. I also barter from the internet. Take
some digital pictures of your parts and old radios (whatever) and
I can evaluate them. I can help you restore them or give you
advice too! My estimates are FREE and so is a lot of the advice I
give out! --- Earl 705-848-9486 email is great (with attached digital
pictures of the equipment)..
EMAIL ME FROM THIS LINK HERE!
For ham operators like myself..who like to
build or fix or tinker..my prices will be rock
bottom and often I throw in freebies that
might be useful for the project you are
working on.
--
When my business name gets registered
and I obtain my tax registration numbers
and all the other stuff
..I will have to start
charging tax!! --> Right now..the idea I'm
thinking about is to throw in a few free
samples to offset this cost!! -- Where there
is a will there is a way!! I'm here to serve
the small hobby builder!
I do some repairs and I work cheap and
give full estimates. My shop rate is only
$10 per hour. That is because alot of the
old stuff I work on and I'm familiar with
..would not be worth fixing if I charged
alot of money. I can also help with repairs,
give advice and help you find parts. I can
even build custom parts in some
particular instances. Call me at
705-848-9486 or email
ve3ab(at)personainternet.com

PS..I give out lots of free advice as well.
I've had several people correspond with
me for quite a few emails about repairs
ect and never charged anything. Its all
part of the networking process.

WEEK 9 AM TO 9 PM AT MY HOME
OFFICE/WORKSHOP..

EMAIL ME FOR CHEAP PARTS FOR
QRP AND FIXING
I recently repaired this older piece of test equipment..a Heathkit Q meter. It will help me to measure coils and I plan to do
some calibration against some known values. In particular..I need to measure small value inductors such as .1 microhenry
through 10 microhenry with accuracy and repeatability. My Autek RF1 does a pretty good job as well with these values but I
want a back up instrument and an instrument to compare against.

I NOW HAVE A SPECTRUM ANALYSER AND CAN DO SPECTRUM ANALYSIS OF YOUR TRANSMITTER! I'm thinking
of setting up a test station and charging $10.00 per hour for hams to do spectrum analysis of their rigs and run
some basic tests. I might be able to do it at a ham radio flea market with a table set up. --this is just one of many
ideas for economical service to other amateurs ..that I am thinking of providing (at a very reasonable price).

i HAVE ALSO GOTTEN A LARGE SUPPLY OF OLDER ICS,TRANSISTORS AND OTHER PARTS..CALL OR EMAIL
ME IF YOU NEED A FEW PARTS TO FINISH UP SOME PROJECT OR FIX SOMETHING. NO ORDER IS TOO SMALL.
I SEND THE PARTS BY MAIL AND IN A PADDED ENVELOPE FOR THINGS SUCH AS SMALL RESISTORS,
CAPACITORS, COILS, WIRE,SOLDER OR WHATEVER..THE PRICE OF SHIPPING IS QUITE REASONABLE.
I am hampered by my lack of stocks.
I don't have enough depth to provide a consistent
service.
I would like to BUY some more Electronics parts and
assemblies. I am looking for rare parts such as older
ICs, displays and semiconductors (in particular).
I have a desoldering station for part removal and
recycling.

Take some digital snapshots of your old junker
electronics..maybe there are valuable parts that I can
salvage...save at least some of it from the landfill!!
I used to have a technician type job in the government
and my specialty was ICs and in particular ..hard to
find/purchase ICs.
Call or email -- thanks...Earl (705-848-9486)

March 2008- got a whole bunch of crystals given to me. I had
a fellow interested in crystals for his drake receiver and so I
built this test oscillator (below) and tested and labelled a
whole mess of crystals. If you need a crystal give me an email
from the link and maybe I can fill the need. Tested crystals
only $2.00 each and if it doesnt work in your circuit I can give
you a refund!! -- hows' that for a sweet deal!!
for more information on my testing and some customer
feedback go to this web page!
I BUY TUBES, TEST TUBES AND SELL
TUBES. I can work on tube equipment
and help you restore and older radio of
sentimental value. earl 705-848-9486

I buy, sell, recycle, and
use small little
electronic components.
----> Some people
collect bottle caps or
stamps ..I guess I
collect old ICs and
transistors!!
If you need

something..give me an

If you are looking for an odd ball part or crystal..give me an email or call 705-848-9486.
I TEST MY CRYSTALS before I
send them out..and they are cheap!
How about $2.00 each!! I have
some 2  mtr FM crystals as well.
Above are some of the coils I sold a fellow who was restoring an old
BC 610 (Boat Anchor) Transmitter. I had some of these coils given to
me by a fellow who was cleaning out his basement. I clean them up
and advertise them on the swap net or ebay and sell them or I can
trade for stuff as well.
I don't make much money at all doing this. It is
a hobby for me and activity. Maybe some day I might make a few
bucks off it.
