TESTIMONIALS FROM SATISFIED CUSTOMERS and some details on my hard to find parts and my testing capabilities for these rare/difficult to find parts.

The old RTL chips were in Radio Shack blister packs. They are old technology. They may be useful for historical purposes or for restoring an old piece of gear.
These ones I have were from an estate sale and I have packed them in parts bins for high density storage. I kept the little data sheets in a book. They are for sale..as I don't think I will ever use them for anything myself. The same goes for these old Zilog and Motorola chips

Hi Earl,
The crystals arrived A-OK here --- many thanks!
I've tried several out already, & so far, so good, with one exception --- and
unfortunately, it's the one that I was especially hoping to listen to the
9.5-MHz SW BC band with...! Just my luck.
Oh well, more testing required still...
BTW, thanks for the extras you tossed-in, too --- much appreciated!
Have a great weekend, & my vy

hi andrews i got the turns counter its a nice one thanks a lot.
I have some odd ball parts and hard to get parts ie old RTL chips, Zilog microprocessor chips and Motorola chips. Good for old equipment repairs/restorations or museum/school projects ect. Some of these old parts I'd like to get rid of. I have no use for them! Make me an offer/trade deal for radio parts
If I dont get any offers on these old LSI chips in the next year or so..I will be batching them up and try to sell them on ebay rather than throw them out.

Subject: help!!! FT-301SD display LCD
hello sir,
my father left to me his prime possesion FT301-SD HF tranceiver and the other day the LED Display unit started to
flicker, then went faulty and left only the point marks on the complete display. I managed to trace the fault to one of
the LED display logic chips faulty. Its a TIL308 and I cant get one anywhere.
can you help????

Some Parts I have stashed as
spare are for these radios:
Ten Tec Argonaut spares
Ts820 parts, Swan 700 parts,
heath hw7 parts. CB radio
spares, dx160 and others.
Parts I have in drawers are:
diodes, transistors, ICs,
Capacitors, crystals (I test
them too!); vacuum tubes,
coils, coil forms, crystal filters,
JFETS, Dual Gate Mosfets,
sockets for transistor and IC.
If you need one or two parts
to fix something...give me a
call or email. Many of these
small parts that fit into a
padded envelope can be sent
to your home at a low cost.
I also have quite a few blank
circuit boards for making your
own circuit card if you are
building something.
I can meet or beat any price
on the web and I don't have
any administration fees
because it is a basement shop
run on a shoestring budget.
I used to work in the government in the
obsolete parts division. I catalogued
and wrote descriptions and tried to
perform item entry control procedures
and screen out duplicates ect. I also
worked trying to help buy spares that
were scheduled for Life Time Buys.
I have a two year diploma from
Algonquin College in the Electronics
Engineering Technician Program.
COILS are sorted and put into
drawers.
I buy coils, people give me coils,
I take coils out of radios that
have been junked.
I have three pieces of test
equipment for measuring coils.
I took early retirement from work
and this all is a HOBBY FOR ME.
I have enrolled in a college
course on 'starting your own
business" starting Jan 22/09.
It may be possible for me to get
some sort of REGISTERED
business going in the next year
or two. I'm working on the idea.
lots of shelves and boxes and
little spare parts.
When I want to build something or
repair something..I have the parts
to do it.
I can spare a few parts here and
there to other hobbyists.
I TRADE parts as well.
So Far I have a 100 percent satisfaction rating on ebay.
I have bought and sold with 18 transactions so far.
Ebay is very popular. I spoke with the garage owner who
was undercoating my trucks this year and he buys and
sells on Ebay.
Ebay (because of its great popularity) really gets the
word out about what you have to sell.
I have a bunch of these older ICs that I might end up selling on ebay. If you need
a part or two..email or call me..I might just have it or could help you locate it.
my email address is ve3ab(at-sign)personainternet.com click here to email me.
HERE is a test setup to test a CB radio. This old Midland SSB/AM 23
channel CB was given to me. The chap who owned it was a smoker and I
cleaned up the exterior panels with alcohol and cotton swaps and
tissue. I tested the unit out with my Bird 43 watt meter and did a transmit
and receive test on it with my other cb transciever to ensure it worked
on all channels and the audio was good. I have some of the parts in my
stocks to fix these old CB radios. Some people who lived through the
CB craze of the mid to late seventies still like these old sets. I give out
free tips on repair of these old sets. I sell the odd spare part as well.
I collect older radios and certain types of electronics
equipment. I fix it up and sell or use it myself. I also use
older equipment for parts to fix other radios and
electronics items.
COILS AND INDUCTORS. I have quite a few stashed away now. Some
hams still use them to restore old radios or to build simple radio sets
or test accessories. I have some core materials as well ie ferrite and
powdered iron toroid cores.
I don't have a great deal of stock ..but I can spare a few here and
there. Its a bit of a hobby business right now. The proceeds go
towards paying the costs of this web site ($15.00 per month). I use the
Yahoo Small Business Account. Right now I'm not making profits.
Hi Earl
got the parcel today, rig is up and running first time ive seen so many
numbers since I got this rig about 12 years ago. Anyway I had to put one
of the not so good segments into position number one cause number
1,2,and the third segment areTIL308 and number 4,5 and 6 are TIL306
the 3 segments you sent are TIL306 so it wouldnt work in position 3, not
a problem cause the first number is either a 1 or a 2 not hard to figure
out. anyway thank u much cause I do enjoy using the newer older rigs.
have a good christmas and a happy new year look forward to meeting
sometime in the spring

Joe
You have been sent 3 pictures.
I'm going to fix Joe up with a TIL308 in the spring (if I can find one!)
These are rare parts but I have some in my junkbox. When I sell
these rare parts to hams; I charged only $8.00 each! I will also
research the essential differences between the TIL306 and TIL308.
I have a feeling they may be pin for pin compatible in the circuit BUT
he may lose the floating decimal point in the display. Joe lives in the
Ottawa Valley. I travel down there several times a year and can make
stops along the way to service hams and help out.
What I sell on ebay: Stuff that is hard to sell and only of
interest to a very few people. I DONT SELL MY RARE HAM
RADIO PARTS ON EBAY-- I sell them to ordinary hams who
need them.
I BUY AND SELL RARE PARTS (HAM RADIO MAINLY).
My prices are very reasonable and my service is good.
